In der Gegend von Kimberley in Südafrika gibt es eine eigenwillige Naturlandschaft. Daß es einmal eine Stadt war, sieht man nicht auf den ersten Blick beim Betrachten des linken Bildes. Unruhige koloniale Zeiten und urbane Entwicklung im Zusammenhang mit der Suche nach Diamanten prägten die Region.
